Are we honouring the Book but ignoring the message? While Muslims are commanded to venerate and follow the revelation of Allah, a gap has emerged between our treatment of the Muṣḥaf (the physical book) and our adherence to the Qur’an itself.
Muslims deeply honour the Muṣḥaf, which contains the Qur’anic revelation. While they also venerate the Qur’an, the way they treat its message suffers from serious shortcomings. It is not uncommon for the Qur’an’s values, rulings, and statements to be set aside in favour of fabricated hadiths and ijtihad of scholars. In effect, the Qur’an is applied in part and ignored in part.
This podcast highlights these shortcomings using specific examples. It aims to increase awareness of these serious failures in our obligations toward the Qur’an, helping us to address these failings and to fully embrace Allah’s message.
