A month ago, I published a podcast on my YouTube channel titled “50 Death Penalty Fatwas by Ibn Taymiyya on Creed, Law & Practice,” along with the list on my Facebook page. In response, a scholar and admirer of Ibn Taymiyya published a detailed critique of my work. However, that critique distorts and misrepresents my arguments, and presents defences of Ibn Taymiyya that are ultimately untenable. While I published a formal, point-by-point rebuttal on Facebook and my blog, this podcast steps back from those specific back-and-forth exchanges. Instead, it addresses the broader, underlying flaws commonly found in apologetic defences of Ibn Taymiyya.
